Hero MotoCorp Soon Gear up Fourth Plant at Neemrana

Hero Motocorp, the country's biggest and well known face of the automobile market has once again ready to launch its fourth plant at Neemrana in Rajasthan in the following few weeks, even as some auto organizations prune creation in the drowsy household market.

The Neemrana plant going onstream - precisely a year later of beginning its development - is noteworthy for the organization as it will produce basically bikes, for example the smash hit Maestro that decidedly helps the generally volumes of the company.

"The Neemrana plant will play a strategic role in Hero's plans to strengthen its leadership in the face of stiff competition. Hero's scooter portfolio - with sharply positioned Pleasure as a scooter for women and Maestro for men - has been contributing well over 55,000 units to its total monthly sales, and it is growing at almost the double that of the industry growth. While the company is now scaling up its monthly scooter production to 75,000 units, but going by the current trend, even this may not be enough to cater to the market demand. This is why Hero is keen on getting the Neemrana facility on-stream at the earliest," a top industry source told ET on condition of anonymity.

In the interim, Hero is liable to begin development of its proposed fifth plant at Halol in Gujarat soon, where the organization will contribute up to Rs 1100 crores. "The plant isexpected to go on stream in the financial year 2015-16 with an annual capacity of 1.8 million units of twowheelers," the source said.

Model has acombined introduced limit of 7 million units between its three assembling offices - Gurgaon and Dharuhera in Haryana and Haridwar in Uttarakhand. This will head off up to well in excess of 9 million units once the two new plants go on stream.
